The current outriggers that occupational therapists use to treat various injuries and diseases involving the hand are extremely outdated. I would like to use the flowIO to make different splints and see the effect of them on different diagnoses. These diagnoses can include trigger finger, flexor synergy pattern following stroke, and etc.
Hello my name is Brooke Shirley and I'm currently making a soft robotic hand at Western Michigan University. I have put together the supplies but now need the design of the PCB boards to put everything together. Can I have access to the PCB designs? This is for a school project.
@Brooke Shirley Sure, in about an hour would be the best time for me (midnight CET) if that works for you. Please send me a zoom link via the contact form or via email https://www.softrobotics.io/contact
The BOM page is now updated to say the following in regards to the PCB Designs
The PCB designs are available upon request if you:- Tell me who you are and why you need them.- Post a description of your project on this website when ready.- Are open to collaborate.
Hi Richard. Yes, there is an update! I have just recently decided to make the PCB designs available upon request, rather than downloadable directly, as I would like to know how they would be used. And I would also like for people to give something back to this effort - such as feedback, documentation, a blog post, etc - just like you said.
I would be happy to do a quick zoom chat to hear more about your request, and can then share them with you via email. If that sounds good, message me via the contact form or find me on LinkedIn and we can continue from there.
This is a really great project! Do you have an update on the PCB design files? Are there any serviceable older models I could have access to? I'd love to have a working unit and to share how I'm using it as well as any documentation I generate.
Thanks for your interest. I am still making some small changes to the PCB designs, so I removed the outdated version I had on the website to avoid confusion until the final PCB designs are finalized, fabricated, and tested.
Is there something you would like to know specifically?
Hello Ali,
I am charge of electronics in the LMTS lab, in EPFL. We are working on soft fluidic and pneumatic actuators.
We are also looking for the PCB design files, to produce some of your devices.
It would be great to meet you via a zoom meeting.
Can you contact me please?
I would share all splint designs as I would want others to contribute to them.
